The most amazing best kept secret in Bali
Tucked away in the outskirts of Canggu lies Jungleroom. I stumbled upon Jungleroom on Instagram and instantly had to check it out. Bali accommodation to a degree has become over run with soulless concrete buildings so desperately lacking in the tropical place feel that we long for during the depths of winter. However, every now and then along comes a property that truly captures originality, calm and a sense of what Bali is all about. Jungleroom captures all that whilst still providing modern amenities and fantastic service. Situated on the outskirts of Canggu, just north of Seminyak, Jungleroom is just far away from the hustle and bustle that it has retained its Balinese feel but still within easy distance to everything you want to be at. All within easy motorbike or taxi ride to all of Canggu’s hippest new restaurants, cafes, health food trail and day spas.
The property houses 6 individually styled guest houses and 1 Three bedroom villa. The 60 year old, Sumatran Karo House is made from teak wood and painstakingly renewed by hand. Staying here is a unique experience found nowhere else on the island. Or if the island of Java is more your style, be sure to rest your head in the Joglo, shipped directly from neighboring island, Java. Each house is rich in furnishings, decorated with native rugs, batik cushions and furniture make of recycled wood. Each house captures your soul, each with their own personality and warmth. I think my personal favorite would have to be the Summer House, complete with its own swing and outdoor veranda area. It’s hard to choose though, each room is original, spacious, inviting, romantic and unique.
Wandering through the property, you are surrounded by little nooks where resting, reading and music playing is welcomed. Its relaxed here, chilled out, calm and cool, even on the hottest of Bali days. Relax by the inviting pool or sit back and relax in the juice bar and sip your Bali dreams away on refreshing healthy drinks and snacks.
For me one of the most beautiful parts of the property is the ability to get up and attend a Yoga class each morning at 9am whilst my hubby is off surfing at the nearby Canggu surf beach. Classes are held here daily in the intimate Yoga Shala and offer a variety of styles and skill levels.
Do yourself a favor and get back to the real essence of Bali at Jungleroom Bali. The hardest part is having to leave.
