Best Brunch Cafes – Seminyak Bali

Brunch is one of my favorite times to eat.  You get the best of both worlds and in Seminyak you really are spoilt for choice. What’s not to love about rolling out of bed late in the morning and strolling into a super cute relaxed café to sip and munch the rest of the morning away! Whether it’s with friends, a newspaper or free WIFI, these top spots are sure to make your tastebuds dance for joy. Read on for our Seminyak Best Brunch Cafes reviews.

Sea Circus –  Jl. Kayu Aya (Oberoi Rd) Seminyak.

Sea Circus

Sea Circus is just too cute with its super summer eclectic furnishings and great food on offer. I love this place. Breakfast is always good and the coffee is always great. The Ricotta pancakes are on point here but if fueling your stomach after a big night on the town is what you are after then the Sin City hangover cure is what you really need. Bacon & eggs with all the trimmings served with espresso coffee, Berocca and Panadol!  The staff are super friendly and accommodating. A smaller venue so it does get packed out pretty easily.

Sisterfields –  Jl. Kayu Cendan No 7, Seminyak.

From the moment Sisterfields opened their doors, there has been a long line out the front – and for good reason. There is serious food envy going on here.  I have never ordered an ‘ok’ meal here, everything is delish every single time.  The coffee here is also Melbourne worthy – and that’s saying a lot – we know A LOT about great coffee in Melbourne!

Sisterfields

With a Breakfast Lunch and Dinner menu offered all day it’s impossible not to find something that takes your fancy. High on the list of must try’s is the Thai glazed 18 hour Berkshire Pork Belly and the Polenta Fries – OMG THE POLENTA FRIES!!! I could write a whole blog just on these fries alone! Of course you could be good and wash all this down with a super healthy fresh juice or live on the wild side a little and order from the impressive cocktail menu – did someone say Lychee Martini?

Café Organic – Jl. Petitenget No 99x, Seminyak

Cafe Organic Pic 1

Café Organic is new on the scene, but it sure is gaining a huge reputation and a massive following. Dubbed the #gardengangstas and self-proclaimed Salad-o-holics, Café Organic offers organic, fresh wholesome options that will convert even the biggest meat eater.  The scandi wood and white theme with the odd cactus here and there instantly makes you feel like your soul will be happy after you have had your fill at Café Organic. The food is yummo and the menu is HUGE! Smoothies, Juices, Kombucha, Coffee, Tea’s – there is much to decide before even thinking about food!!

However, when you do I highly recommend the Mushroom Stack (Garlic roasted mushrooms, Spinach, Falafel, Hash browns, Avocado, slow roasted Tomato’s and Eggs) and the Naga Dragon Bowl – which is honestly too pretty to eat! Get in early or late arvo as this place at breakfast/brunch time has a big line of hungry travellers waiting to get a spot.

Shelter/Nalu Bowls – Jl. Drupadi 1, 2B, Seminyak

Nalu Bowls Pic 1You will spot Shelter and Nalu Bowls down a little laneway in upper Legian/lower Seminyak by the very cute, tropical, palm fringed bar on the side of the laneway – but don’t let the 4 chairs fool you as upstairs is a cute open café that looks out over the rooftops of Seminyak and across a lush green soccer field.

You can choose from the Nalu Bowls menu, which offers amazing smoothie bowls or from the Shelter menu which has yummy options for the health conscious and not so health conscious alike.  These kids also serve up a mean coffee, and a pretty darn good affogatto! You can also visit Nalu bowls at one of their 3 locations, Seminyak, Canggu or Uluwatu.

Ku De Ta – Jl. Kayu Aya No 9, Seminyak

The original big kid on the block. Ku De Ta popped up amongst the rice paddies before even your taxi driver knew where Jl. Oberoi and Jl. Petitenget was. Some would say it developed the famous strip it now rests upon.  Ku De Ta still sets the standard for all to follow and breakfast is my favourite time to visit (ok cocktail time is too, I can’t lie!)  Sit back and enjoy a beautiful menu whilst watching the waves roll onto shore. The menu is fantastic and the atmosphere is even better. Breakfast may very well turn into lunch which could turn into drinks which will probably then lead to dinner – you don’t really have to leave Ku De Ta and you most likely won’t want to.

Grab a lounge, pop on your togs and relax the day away.  A word of warning – Ku De Ta adheres to strict dress standards.

Nook – Jl. Umalas 1, Gg Nook, Seminyak

Nook insta pic 3Tranquil, romantic, breezy – Nook is a stunning little spot to get away from it all.  The staff here are warm and friendly and the food is comforting and fresh.  Pop in for a smoothie bowl or a great cup of coffee before you head out into the hustle and bustle of Seminyak.

Monsieur Spoon

If your heart desires nothing more than the best flaky buttery hot croissants and delicate sweet French pastries, then Monsieur Spoon has you covered. Now with 4 locations on the island, kicking back and savouring a delicious French treat with a great cup of coffee has never been easier. If you after something a little more substantial, then Monsieur Spoon has you covered – Burgers, Quiches, Salads are all upon the menu.

Revolver Espresso

13556914_1033054523447330_813152638_nI’m making a big call here – Revolver has it – official best coffee on the island. These guys know their stuff – so much so that they roast and blend their own carefully sourced beans. Affogato kings and cold drip queens will be more than happy here. Stop by the café located up a little laneway off Jl. Kaya Aya (Jl. Oberoi) or pop into Baby Revolver near Sarong Restaurant for a quick cup.  The food menu is solid with breakfast options served all day and heartier fare served from 11 – 6pm. Take your time reading through the menu – offerings are named after all things guns, westerns and outlaws!!! Be sure to sample the El Cartel (baked eggs, tomato, pepper, yoghurt & dukkah) or Bulletproof (bbq shredded pork slider with red onion marinade).

A little out of Seminyak

Ok these 2 are not officially Seminyak but are only a quick taxi ride away and well worth the journey.

Bungalow Living – Jl. Raya Pantai Berawa No 35, Canggu

Bungalow

Bungalow living is a café and homewares shop all in one. Grab a table on the veranda of this white weatherboard plantation style cafe come shop and watching the world go by or sit inside amongst beautiful furnishings and homewares available for purchase. With homewares and handicrafts from India, Morocco and Indonesia there is always something cute to look at here.

The café menu is true to the Canggu area and focuses on fresh and healthy with the odd tasty treat thrown in too.  Healing juices, Chia puddings but also great coffee will help fuel your tummy whilst relaxing and shopping till your hearts content.

Be sure to cross the road and head a few doors up for a second Bungalow Living store bursting with beautiful throws and soft furnishings.

Betelnut Café –  Jl.Pantai Batu Bolong, No 60. Echo Beach Canggu

Betelnut

This tiny little place is so earthy, raw and fresh you will never want to leave. Located in the serene rice fields of Echo Beach, approximately 15 mins taxi from Seminyak, Betelnut Café calms your mind and cools your soul. This beachy breezy treehouse is a great venue for a relaxed meal. All the food here is organic, wholesome and super tasty.  All bases are covered from healthy granola bowls (try the Naga bowl) to homemade burgers, salads and Mexican Burritos. Vegans, Vego’s and Raw food followers are well looked after here as well as the kiddies with a special kid’s menu and kid sized portions.

If the heat of the day is just too much try the Mint, Ginger and Lime Frappe – delish and ohhh so refreshing!
